PADS
PADS is an organization that works to raise assistance dogs, trained to aid those facing the challenges of hearing or physical disabilities. PADS is located in Burnaby, British Columbia and services the provinces of B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. This non-profit organization relies entirely on fundraising, grants and donations to finance the care and training of its assistance dogs.
Orbie will be raised in Calgary, Alberta by trainer Miranda Turenne. During advanced training, from the age of 16 to 24 months, the areas in which Orbital excels will determine what kind of assistance dog he will become. As either a Service Dog (specializing as a brace dog, mobility dog or pulling dog) or Facility Therapy Dog, the ultimate goal is for Orbie to assist those with disabilities lead a more adaptive and enriched life.
